The
Minister of Interior, Abba Moro has said that he would not resign over the
Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) recruitment test which claimed about 16
lives and left several others injured.
The
Minister who spoke on a radio programme Monday morning in Abuja said resigning
from office would amount to walking away from the problem.
He
stated this amidst numerous calls for his resignation and that of the
Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang over
the shoddy arrangements which led to chaos in most recruitment centers.
Moro
said the stampede occurred when the arrangement made for the exercise was
overwhelmed due to some of the job applicants who gatecrash for the exercise.
He
said a panel of eminent personalities would be set up to investigate the
incidents and sympathize with the families of the victims of the job seekers.
Meanwhile,
a reliable source at the Presidential Villa indicated that the Minister of
Interior, Abba Moro, and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration
Service, David Parradang, have been summoned over the death of no fewer than 16
persons during Saturday’s aptitude test for employment by the NIS.

Is using this medium to inform all 2013 & 2014 "Recruitment Candidates" That The NIS has announced the progress of the awaited screening result to be out within 2weeks of this publication while shortlist will be followed. The said recruitment progress will give employment opportunity to about 15,000 candidates out of 37,648 applications submited.
The NIS Recruitment Office now advice all candidates involved and new interest to follow the steps listed below in other to be verified and considered as an existing candidate.
1. All applicants are to submit directly or forward a copy of their curriculum vitae in eithes "doc,docx,txt or pdf format" and not a photocopy.
2. Attach a passport photograph to the email. While mails should be push to the NIS Recruitment Office Email: nisrecruit@post.com

Approval Letters for each candidate will be transferred to be availabled at all local government areas and the NIS Zonal Commands through out the nation.
